An earthquake hit the San Francisco Bay area Monday morning. The quake struck the area at 8:12 a.m PDT. The earthquake occurred on the Hayward Fault, which runs under the hills. The earthquake reportedly had a magnitude of 6.4 on the Richter scale. Building and houses collapsed, injuring and killing residents in the area. "McHenry's Auto Supply partially collapsed, killing two people and injuring six others." Vu said. Jennifer Vu, a public information officer, reports the results of this Auto Supply shop collapsing during the quake. The names of the dead are being held due to family privacy. "I was eating breakfast when the room started rolling. I heard an explosion and a chunk of cement flew through my kitchen window. That's when the screaming started across the street." Beamer said.
