Story #1 - Huntington Story

Janice Jones, 53 years old, lives in Barstow, California. Jones was in the back of her motor home, when her dog knocked over her 9 mm handgun off a seat. The weapon discharged and shot Jones in the leg.
Jones was shot in the leg around 10 p.m on Wednesday, in her motor home parked on Beach Boulevard near Highway 1. Jones was taken to the Huntington Beach Hospital in an ambulance, and then transported to the Irvine Medical Center.

"It could have been worse," Rye said. "The bullet hit 2 inches from the gas tank."

California Highway Patrol press liaison, Tammy Rye, reports that this accident could have had a worse outcome. The bullet could have hit the gas tank, resulting in an explosion.

"It could have done with a little less abuse and a few more of those pork chops." Ngo said. Janet Ngo, one of the animal control officers, says that the dog seemed to be abused by Jones. The dog seemed to be malnourished and had fresh cigarette burns on its forehead. Ngo indicts that her office would look into filing animal abuse charges against Jones.

"Jones was cited for expired plates and doesn't have a permit for the gun." Rye said.

The country's district attorney's office was considering whether or not to charge her in relation to this gun accident.
