Story 1: ( page 2 )
The Criminal Justice Division of the Office gave AISD $4.48 million grant to start building support centers for children who are victims in crime. Each campus will consist of two staff members that will be able to help kids and there families cope through these tough times. This program will greatly benefit families that need help and don't have the money for it, because this way doesn't cost them a penny. Overall, this story was about this new program that will be able to give those kids and families the help they need in this kinds of situations in order to prevent them from happening in the future.
Who: child victims of crime
What: helping them and there families get support through this program
Where: all around AISD school campus'
When: Now! The act was already passed and these support centers are seen on different campus'
Why: To aid Texas children who have gone through any acts of violence or crime in there lives.
How: Using money funded through the Criminal Justice Division, it is possible to make this program work without having the families pay for anything.
Jean Frazier, a child development teacher, was quoted throughout this story.
The strongest quote in my opinion was, "Kids that are abused at a young life tend to abuse their children, that is a fact.... if we can get that abuse to be snubbed out earlier, they can reprogram those kids to think on a little bit of a different level..." This quote appeared towards the end of the story. This was a very strong quote because I thought it was very powerful and the complete truth and true reason as to why this program is being put into place.
The lead sentence did catch my attention because it is mentioning this new program and how it is going to be put into action now.

Story 2: ( page 5 )
Junior Austin Buttlar is apart of the varsity mountain biking team. The story talks about there practice schedule, what they do to warm up for riding, and many other factors that contribute into preparing for a great race. Also being a member on the varsity team means a lot more commitment. Varsity races are much longer, they can be as long as two hours of riding for a race. Overall, biking has become a big part of Buttlar's high school career and he can't wait for another great year on the Bowie mountain bike team.
Who: Austin Buttlar
What: Junior on the Bowie mountain varsity bike team
Where: team is apart of Bowie sports
When: He is currently been a member on the team for 3 years now
Why: He is a great rider and wants to spread awareness for this great and exciting program
How: He has been dedicated to this sport since a young age and joined the team his freshman year
Austin Buttlar, the junior bike rider, was quoted throughout this whole story.
The strongest quote in my opinion was, "When I'm biking, it gives me the opportunity to take my mind off things and focus on the trail and the nature around." I think this was the best quote because it really shows us how much he cares and loves this sport and he wouldn't rather be doing anything else.
The lead sentence was pretty strong because it used a lot of imagery and appealed to my senses, which made me want to read more and see what this story was all about.

Story 3: ( page 13 )
The phrase "me too" may not have been that important or meaningful to anyone until just recently. Many women have now been using the #MeToo movement to share their stories and spread awareness about their experiences with sexual abuse or harassment. After the Weinstein case took headline news all around the world, this is what sparked the movement of women to starting speaking out and standing up for themselves. One symbol to notion this movement is to wear the color black, and show true empowerment with control over our bodies. Overall, this #MeToo movement has allowed women all over to finally have a voice, and a voice to be listened to.
Who: women all over
What: are finally standing up for themselves, with the #MeToo movement in place
Where: all over the world, through social media and pop culture everywhere
When: currently
Why:  Women should stand up and have a voice about struggles they've been keeping in for so long. Harassment is not going to be tolerated by women any longer, and we are putting an end to it.
How: This is possible through the movement of women all over finally coming together and realizing that they no longer have to be afraid anymore, and that they are going to get help and men will get the punishments they greatly deserve.
No one was quoted throughout this story
There were no quotes in this story. However, something said in the story that I thought was very powerful is Friedman wrote, "Not only does this movement unify women, it exposes and forces many of the men guilty of harassment to face their well deserved consequences." This statement was in the middle of the article. I thought this quote was very strong because it speaks about just what this #MeToo movement is going to do in favor of the women. Women will finally get that ending they deserved and the men will be punished for there actions.
The lead sentence was very strong in my opinion because it is just talking about what exactly this #MeToo movement really is and why it is beneficial to women all over.

photograph 2 - Eric Larson close up:

The rule of composition being expressed in this photo is simplicity. This photo shows great simplicity because the background is blurred and very dark, while the subject is up close and has great lighting projected onto him. It really allows the subject to stand out and be the focus of attention. Eric Larson is the main subject for the photo. The photo has pretty good exposure, although Eric could be a litter lighter and sharpen just to make him stand out that much more. I do see deep depth of field.

photograph 3 - Maddy Sparkes

The rule of composition I see again is simplicity. Maddy Sparkes is the main subject of the photo. She has great lighting and the photo is very nicely exposed. However, the mergers in the front of the camera are taking away full attention of the subject in this photo.

photograph 5 - Piper Kopser

This photo has many great elements shown. It is very well exposed because of the shadow casted onto the wall. Also you can see the actress stand out in the dark lighting. This photo has great depth of field and is overall very appealing to the eye. I think this photo shows rule of thirds, balance, and even some more rules can be present. The actress is off center which makes the photo very eye catching. Also she is balanced out by her shadow.

photograph 3

This photo shows the rule of balance. Fen Hendon and Rose Eichelman balance each other out as the two subjects side by side in the photo. The photo also can show some simplicity due to the simple background behind the subjects. However, I think this photo could have been exposed better. The subjects could have been brighter, and the natural lighting most likely had something to do with this. Overall, this photo was nice quality it just could have been exposed better.

photograph 1

I think this photo shows simplicity and great lines. The lines of his hands contrast with the lines in the pottery cup. This photo has a great theme and I think how it is just a usual person as the main subject. Also Fen Hendon's hands balances out the pottery cup. This photo has great exposure that fits the mood and tone of the photo. I like how the background is blurred and the photo has that blueish look to it all throughout the photograph.

photograph 2

This photo is shown to be a simple shot of Fen Hendon, making his pottery cup. This shows some rules of composition but not any that really attract or stand out to me. Also I believe this photo could of been exposed better and had better quality. The background is simple for the most part, but has some mergers popping out that are distracting and took my attention away from the main subject.
