Approaching the Problem of Style
 https://petapixel.com/2014/08/25/approaching-problem-style/

Many photographers define style as art and a way to express yourself. However, style isn't possible until you've learned how to master the basics. The elements of photography all make up what great style looks like in a photo. If you incorporate elements such as; line, shape, form, texture, color, and pattern.

I learned that style doesn't development on it's own. You must apply yourself to visualize and picture an artistic vision. Another tip is to find what excites you. You won't be able to get in depth with a topic or subject that doesn't appeal to you or is boring.

I liked this photo because the style wasn't boring and doesn't really go with the usual trends that we always see. It wasn't basic and appeared to have a more dangerous and edgy vibe to it. I think the lines really make this whole look pop because the two different kinds of lines are clashing in a very nice way. Also the lines in the background make the subject stand out more. Another rule this photo follows is simplicity because she is behind a very simple and non clustered background. However, this background does a really nice job of fitting the edgy vibe. https://blog.phowd.com/2014/09/7-tips-shooting-great-portrait-photographs/

This website is giving tips on how to accomplish taking successful portrait photos. The main ideas are to go beyond your comfort zone and experiment with different techniques. Also rules of photography play a big role in shooting the perfect portrait and capturing the right angles for your subject .

I liked this photo because it was not a formal portrait. I liked how the subject wasn't looking directly at the camera, this gives the photo a more emotional and dramatic effect. Also how he is balancing the blackberry on his nose makes the photo visually appealing and more interesting rather than it just being him looking up. The blackberry gives him a purpose for looking up. I think this photo shows simplicity because the background is blurred and the subject is very close and in focus. All the attention is draw towards what the subject is doing rather than focusing on the background. Also this photo shows balance. Yes he is balancing a blackberry on his face but his face is very straight and allows your eyes to lead up to the blackberry. No name was listed as to who took the photo.

Projector Brought Into the Forest Turns Nature Into a Glowing Wonderland
https://petapixel.com/2015/01/01/projector-brought-forest-turns-nature-glowing-wonderland/

This video and website are showing us what happens when a projector interferes with nature. The 3D projections are usually used on the side of building or on flat surfaces. But what if a 3D projector was used on things that aren't flat and orderly. Photographer Tarek Mawad and animator Friedrich van Schoor decided to test this theory out.

The video is very artsy and shows different shots of nature. However, the video shows brief clips of nature as it is and then with the projector used on it. The projections make it look as if the animals and trees are glowing. They appear to be very fluorescent and light up the night sky.

Tarek and Mawad and Friedrich van Schoor made this video possible. The artists spend 6 weeks capturing footage for this video Their project known as LUCID is a series of both video and still photographs. The redefine nature by combining artificial light and the natural world. They create geometric shapes with the light. The combination of art and science really creates an effect that the nature is coming to life.

I learned that you can use electroluminescent lights and wires to create geometric shapes from nature. And that these fragments of light appear as if they are bent or suspended since they are being combined with the natural environment.

6 Types of Photos Every Photographer Should Know How to Make
https://petapixel.com/2014/12/01/6-types-photos-know-make/

This website goes over tips and concepts that photographers should know how to do in order to capture the perfect photos. It explains 6 different photos are how they are taken. The concepts all contribute to the idea of creativity, perspective and different techniques.

I picked this photo because it is very surreal and it caught my eye. The photo was very long and it felt as if I was standing on the boardwalk. This picture really pops and allows the nature to come to life with the way it was taken.
It is known as a long exposure landscape photo. It is a classic photo that many photographers enjoy taking. It allows the moving objects to be smooth blurs. Or even completely vanish those moving lines. Stormy seas can be seen as silk. In order to create this you have to block the viewfinder for a very long exposure. This prevents light leakage which can create streaky marks if the viewfinder isn't blocked right. Also to give it the more dramatic feel, photographers like to put these photos in black and white and add a square crop for that "fine art" look.
