Evolution Video
( 1st Video ) 1. The changes made to the models face were:
- made her lips bigger
- made her neck longer
- made her shoulders smaller
- made her eyes bigger
- made her face skinnier
( 2nd Video ) 2. The changes that were made to the model's body and face were:
- made her body skinnier
- made her legs longer
- made her neck longer
- made her shoulders smaller
- made her eyes bigger
- made her feet smaller
- made her nose smaller
( 3rd Video ) 3. The changes made to the model were:
Everything was changed about her, because turns out this model was actually a piece of pizza. They took pizza and photoshopped it into a model...
4. I don't think it is ethical to change a person like it was shown in the video. In the video, photoshop completely changed the model's face to the point where she looked like a whole different person afterwards. You are making that person look like somewhere there not, and trying to make them as perfect as possible. This then lower's other girls self esteem because they believe that they should look like that when in reality the model doesn't even look like that.
5. I think it is more ethically wrong to do this kind of manipulation on magazines and covers of billboards. This is for everyone to see and then leads to woman critiquing and criticizing there appearance when they should be happy with who they are. These kinds of photos are lower people's self esteem.
6. I think very slight adjustments are okay. For example, maybe changing someone's skin tone slightly or making there eyes stand out more in color. Color changes and small changes are okay. However, changing someone's whole face to something very different is not ethical.
7. The difference between fashion photography and photojournalism is that fashion photography focuses more on the aspect of photoshop and editing for advertising purposes. While photojournalism is more about taking the photos and not photoshopping or only doing it in moderation, because newspapers have rules on editing and have good morals when it comes to what they put out. Photojournalism is more ethically driven.
8. Fashion Photography is far from reality. These photos are taken in studios and are mainly for advertising purposes. They do not have ethically morals or values because all of these photos have been photoshopped to the extreme. However, photojournalism has ethical values. Photoshopping is going out into nature and capturing different moments. Photojournalism only really does a few color changes and some selective cropping. Therefore, this photography is ethically okay. In fashion photography, they have completely distorted the idea of "perfection".
9. I think you are showing these videos, so we know that fashion photography is very different from photojournalism. Also that we shouldn't believe everything we see on ads or in magazines because 99% of the time these photos have been completely photoshopped.
10. None of these videos are about guys because girls have such high standards in this world. The world have drilled this idea into everyone that girls are supposed to look like barbie dolls, perfect all the time. Also majority of the time it's girls who are looking up to other girls and wanting to be like them, we are the ones with the low self esteem.
