Abandoned Theme Parks


1. I would want to visit the Holy Land, Waterbury, Connecticut, USA. This one caught my attention because it doesn't look like your average theme park. It was created to look like a little town that resembled a version of Bethlehem, Jerusalem. There were over 200 unique structure's that were created by a guy named John Greco. It seems like a very interesting place to get some very creepy photos. All of the different buildings give the park a very unique scenery. Also the arch that would welcome visitors in particularly caught my eye. It appears to be made out of stone and the gates out of rustic metal. This entry gives the whole park a very unpleasant vibe. Overall, this theme park would be a very fascinating and unique place to take some spooky photos.


3. Five other unusual places I think would interest photographers would be to shoot at a hospital, funeral home, old fashioned restaurant, nursing home and a haunted house.

5. I think it would be really interesting and different to shoot at a psychiatric hospital. I have always heard creepy stories about what they are like, so it would be a thrilling experience to actually go inside one and capture what it is really like. Many photographers go outside there comfort zone to take the best pictures they possibly can, so this would be a way to capture something normally people would be afraid to do. I have always been curious about what kind of stuff the nurses do with the patients there, and if it is a good environment for the people having to stay there. Overall, it would be a great place to take unusual photos that would catch people's attention. 

6. In order to be able to go and take photos at a psychiatric hospital I would have to prepare myself. I cannot just walk in and ask to take photos of patients. I most likely would research and find the closest one near me, and call them and ask if I can take photos of there hospital. All I would need is my camera and possibly a tripod. This would be an inexpensive trip. Also I would need to be very respectful of the workers and patients there, and not get too close to anyone would doesn't want there picture taken. I would have to be very mindful of everyone in there.

The composition rule I followed for this photo is balance. The subject's are the two groups of people. They are both the subjects because the groups are very crucial to this image since they are the focus of the photo. The two groups are balancing each other out. People who are looking at this photo may not realize that this image has more than one subject. However, the photo is focused on the two groups, so if people know the rules for balance in a photo then they will know that the groups are both the subjects. I think I could have gotten a different angle in order to make one group stand out more than the other. Landscape Photography

1. Where is one place on the internet you might go to better prepare yourself for the location you are shooting at?  Online map service, such as Google Maps. Google Maps show great detail of locations. 2. What is one app you might download to help you when trying to pick the best angle to take landscape photos?   The app Photographer's Ephemeris that will help you predict the angles of sunrise and sunset. Includes features that will tell you the best angles and when to shot your landscape photos. 3. What is the biggest problem shooting with a zoom or telephoto lens? You want to shoot details from a distance to make the foreground and background to appear to be very close together. The biggest problem with these is they distort the photo , making the sequence harder to put together. 4.
